Everest Circuit and Base Camp Success!

Since our last post on the progress of Ray, Sue and Carl, they've trekked up to Gokyo and then back and over the Cho La Pass. Up to Everest Base Camp and Kala Pattar via Lobuche and Gorak Shep and are now on their way back down valley towards Namche Bazaar and then to Lukla. Gyan (their guide) reports they have done extremely well and have plenty of great stories to tell.  We'll need to wait a few days yet for the stories but we have some great pics below they've just sent through.

On the way to Gokyo

Sue, Carl and Ray are doing a great job sending updates and another round of pics landed in my inbox last night. Well done everyone and I'm sure your friends and family at home are enjoying being able to follow your trip. Today the team will head to Dole which will see them rise to 4038 metres in altitude. You certainly know you're getting up there once you pass the 4000m mark and the views up valley to Cho Oyu (8201m) are simply stunning. Cho Oyu is the 6th highest mountain in the world and our crew will enjoy uninterrupted view of this Himalayan giant all the way to Gokyo. More soon!

Onward and upward !

Today our intrepid trekkers Ray, Sue and Carl (and fearless leader Gyan) will head to Khumjung.  Khumjung is one of the larger villages in the region and home to the 'Hillary School' established by Sir Edmund Hillary in 1961. Khumjung is also home to the famous 'Yeti's' head which is able to be viewed at the local Gompa ... for a small fee of course. We've received some pics from the crew which are featured below and it seems the Tatura milk high vis beanies (and socks) are getting a solid workout. Apparently Ray has about 45 of these to hand out to the Sherpa people along the way!  Tomorrow the team will head to Dole on their way further up valley towards the beautiful Gokyo lakes and Gokyo. be sure to check out the map we've inlcuded in the pics below which shows the route our team will take.

New Ski Aspen 2012 Video

We interrupt the recent blog updates from our Everest Base Camp expedition (which incidently is heading to Monjo tonight then onto Lukla tomorrow) to bring you another Ski Aspen classic. It'd be fair to say that Trek Climb Ski guide 'The Fat' is becoming quite handy with Final Cut Pro, not to mention his great work with the helmet cam. Please enjoy and we'll return to our Everest Base Camp bulletins shortly!
